What our Clients say about ICON...

Quote from Lee Alley - “Despite having an MBA, I found Tony’s practical experienced advice was absolutely spot on. As a result I now work only 50 -60 hours a week rather than the 80-90 previously and I am working much more effectively and spending 25% of my time working ON The Business. I would thoroughly recommend Tony to any Business Owner who wants to change the way he/she works in their business.”

Anthony Fairbanks Weston...

Following an early career in the Army and the private sector, Anthony has spent the last 15 years as a consultant and career interim leading teams and making things happen.

He has worked as a member of or alongside senior management teams on complex and sensitive high-profile business transformation and improvement programmes that had one thing in common: there was the opportunity to really ‘make a difference’.

For example:

* Establishing the MoD UK Defence Media Operations Centre: merging three training schools and creating both early entry and follow on operational capabilities;

* Leading high-level consultation exercise and strategic review for a national rail industry client that would shape future strategy, operating models and delivery capability;

Anthony is a strong, collaborative and inspirational leader who combines clarity of thought and vision, strategic insight and robust planning, with a ‘can-do attitude’ and the ability to enthuse and motivate others; encouraging them to challenge embedded practices and, above all, look for solutions.

He now wishes to bring all that experience to bear as an ICON Business Advisor, helping small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) grow their businesses and realise their full potential.

“For me ‘success’ is about facilitating and enabling businesses and organisations to move forward with confidence by working with them to develop and implement business and people solutions that will deliver optimal, sustainable and cost effective business operations.”

After leaving school Anthony worked as a cowboy in Montana. His love of the countryside and outdoor life continues to this day and he currently keeps rare breed pigs and very ordinary brown egg-laying chickens at his home in Suffolk, where he and his wife, Clare, and their three boys all enjoy cooking and entertaining family and friends.

Anthony is a an accredited and certified member of the Institute for Turnaround, a member of the PwC Turnaround Panel of independent directors and a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. A retired Lieutenant Colonel, he is also vice-chairman the Suffolk Reserve Forces and Cadets Association and chairman of the Employer Engagement Committee.

Anthony was very hard working, thoughtful and resilient. He was incredibly positive despite real challenges, determined to succeed and a real support in a crisis. This project required a real ability to lead, to enthuse staff and to motivate others – he made this project a real success.

John Wadham, Group Legal Director

Anthony leads by example, instilling confidence and inspiring others by his clear vision, his positive outlook and total belief in what can and needs to be achieved. His energy, style, professionalism, commitment to, passion for and belief in the programme were infectious and he quickly established himself as a valued member of the Senior Management Team. He has a commanding presence, confident but never arrogant, and earned the respect of all he worked with through his clear direction, tenacity, preparedness to challenge the norm, objectivity and support for his colleagues.

Jim Barker-McCardle, Chief Operating Officer

Anthony’s enquiring mind, ability to strike a rapport together with his capacity to cross reference the range of inputs enabled a sound and objective analysis of industry thinking. He is quick, a pleasure to work with and has the personality and depth to earn the respect of all with whom he had dealings – the feedback from the industry was highly complementary.

Andrew Figgures CB CBE, Chief Executive
