Graham Pay...

Graham is an accomplished and experienced business manager having been a director of a Channel Island based retail jewellery business for over twenty years, during which time he helped it to grow from a small start to become one of Guernsey’s leading jewellery retailers.

Graham retired as a Commander after 25 years’ service in the Royal Navy in 1995 having gained significant experience in the procurement of defence equipment from companies such as Westland Helicopters Ltd, British Aerospace, Rolls Royce, General Electric and Pratt & Whitney. He joined AgustaWestland Ltd as a senior manager to lead a number of major company change programmes.  This included a lead role in developing and implementing an innovative new contract for supporting AgustaWestland’s MoD customers in order to significantly improve end user satisfaction and increase company profitability whilst also delivering valuable savings to the UK tax payer.  A real ‘win-win’.

His more recent experience includes working at senior management level in the aerospace industry in the UK, USA and Scandinavia.  A Chartered Engineer, Graham possesses degrees at master’s level from Cambridge University, Cranfield University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the UK’s Open Business School.

Graham now wishes to help small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) grow their businesses using the theoretical and practical methods and approaches which he has learned during his long and varied career in the highly competitive world of defence contracting.

Outside of his work activities Graham has played a lead role in the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) where he was Chairman of the Yeovil & District Branch of the CMI for many years before becoming its President in 2009.  He has also acted as Chairman of Trustees of a Dorset based charity which arranged leadership training for young people in various developing countries. He was recently elected a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) in recognition of his long and distinguished career in the UK’s aerospace industry.

Graham is a keen sailor and has a grown up family who are all pursuing successful careers in commerce and business.

I have known Graham for over 25 years, and he achieved considerable success in his senior management role within AugustaWestland, and has established a very high reputation in the business. Graham is very easy to get on with and very amenable, and always delivers against what he says he will do.
Graham Cole, Chairman AugustaWestland Ltd

Graham is a strong communicator and very diligent. He has a breadth of experience and is always focussed on getting things done. He has reached the very top in his roles within the Royal Navy and AugustaWestland and is now committed to helping SME’s in the Dorset area achieve success. -
Steve George CBE FRAeS.
